This site sets no browser cookies and runs no analytics or advertising trackers.
what is collected
Web server logs. Nginx records standard access logs: IP address, user agent, requested URL, timestamp, and response metadata. Logs stay on hardware I operate and are rotated/deleted within about 14 days, with no IP retention beyond that.
Podcast download counts. Nginx writes a podcast download log. A local script counts full-file episode downloads only, matching successful non-range GET /episodes/<id>.mp3 requests, and writes aggregate per-episode totals to JSON. The public site shows counts, not individual download records.
third parties
All public traffic is routed through Cloudflare Tunnel/Cloudflare for TLS and routing. Podcast audio is served from audio.laurenswhipple.com, also on this infrastructure.
